Hemlock Township Police Department is pleased to announce the Joint Municipal Agreement for Law Enforcement Services between Hemlock and Madison Townships.
The Agreement, which took effect January 1, 2018, allows Hemlock officers to provide police services to Madison Township. Hemlock Township was able to hire an additional full-time officer to better serve, and provide additional coverage, to the residents of both townships bringing their staff to seven full-time officers.
Madison Township residents should have seen an increased police presence in the township since the agreement took effect in January as officers now respond to calls for service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as well as patrols on the township roads.
Your police department provides additional services other than the traditional responses to emergencies, such as house watches while residents are on vacation, vehicle lockouts and fire and medical emergencies.
As always, please dial 911 in an emergency or
(570) 784-7911 to contact the on-duty officer.
Should anyone have any questions, please feel free to contact Chief Michael VanDine at (570) 784-6543
or by email at vandine@hemlocktownship.org.
